Bojinga Mountain is the fourth highest peak among the "Seven Peaks of Guanguan." Historically a Taiwan Power Company maintenance road, remnants of old wooden power poles and steel cables can still be seen along the forest trail. The name "Bojinga" is said to be derived from the steep incline of the trail, a phonetic pun in Min Nan (Hokkien) meaning "very steep slope."
The Bojinga uphill race will utilize a time trial format. Runners will be released individually at the start to prevent congestion on the trail, especially among the stronger competitors. The starting order will be determined by ITRA Performance Index (PI), with higher PIs starting first. Those without a PI or who haven't provided the information will be assigned a random starting position. This race also serves as a qualifier for the World Mountain & Trail Running Championships (WMTRC) Chinese Taipei team. With the participation of Taiwan's elite runners, it promises to be a high-stakes competition, testing racers' speed, technique, and strategic prowess.
