The Far Away 40K short-distance category offers a challenging yet manageable opportunity for both aspiring and elite trail runners to tackle the Guanguan Two Peaks. The course traverses the Dongzong trail, passing through the Seven Peaks of Guanguan area, from Wowo Mountain to the panoramic views of Dongmao Mountain, and then crosses the Defulan Trail. This category provides a safe and challenging environment for intermediate runners to advance their skills, while also serving as the qualifying race for the Chinese Taipei national team in the WMTRC World Championships short-distance category. With the participation of Taiwan's top athletes, this race will be a high-stakes competition testing speed, technique, and race strategy.
The exact distance, elevation gain, checkpoint locations, and cutoff times for this category will be announced after confirmation. The organizers reserve the right to adjust the route due to safety concerns or trail conditions.

Drop Bag
Transition bags will be provided at CP2 (Defulan Parking Lot - confirmation pending) for this category. Racers can use these bags to store extra shoes, socks, clothing, supplies, or headlamps during the race. Trekking poles are not permitted in the transition bags.
Participants must carry all mandatory equipment throughout the entire race and are subject to random checks by race officials. Failure to carry all mandatory equipment will result in disqualification.
Cut-Off time
The race has a 12-hour time limit. Checkpoint closing times will be announced later
